I'm copy-pasting this, so sorry to those who will be reading the same thing in a few places. razz

No Spoilers, of course (unless you count reading about what I thought before your watch it as spoilerish. In that case, move on).

I'm not sure I can give it a good rating, maybe 3/5 or 3.5/5 at most, but even with that, I can say that I liked it overall. It seems I'm in the minority, though.

Sure the lines were cheesy, acting wasn't great and the scenes were all too convenient. The funny scenes ended up being extended in the way that it stopped being funny already, but as a whole I still liked it.

Why? Coz when I planned to watch Spider-Man 3, I was looking forward to lots of fast-paced web-slinging action, lots of things crashing and going boom, and that's exactly what I got. I totally enjoyed the fight scenes, the first one being my most favorite. ^^; The special effects were AWESOME, everything just flowed seamlessly!

So I guess liking it will really depend on your expectations when you go in. If you're looking forward to a deep movie with excellent characterization and self-discovery, then you'll prolly end up really disappointed. If you're like me and just see the Spidey movies as something quick and fun, then you might be okay with it, too. Maybe if it was a little bit, oh I dunno, funny, then maybe it would have had better feedback. wink

Oh, and for the record, I fell in love with James Franco in this movie! I'm not sure what's different with him in this movie, but... eeeeeeeeeeeee! *melts* (Okay, so maybe it's because he's totally melt-worthy when he smiles and being normal and stop being all emo. razz)

Btw, the Green Goblin costume? Totally Kyle Rayner inspired. razz
I might see this weekend.
My brother saw the midnight showing last night and said it was terrible. My local comic shop guy said he thought it was NOT as good as #2. He knows I hated the second one, so he said I'd be better off waiting for DVD.
Going to see it tomorrow with my sister, niece and nephew.
I'm seeing Suday afternoon.
I'll say this: I liked the first one and I liked the second one and I liked the third one. Spidey Not sure what other people expect from movies, but I found it a good two and a half hours of entertainment.

I had a few minor issues of things that were different from the comics, but otherwise it was a good movie.
I got S3 for Christmas present from secret santa. It came all the way from Utah!Grumbledance

Me, too! Highfive Although it didn't come from Utah... What did you think about it?

I have to say that I was rather disappointed. I liked the baddies, the fight scenes and I still think that JJJ and Bruce Campbell had the funniest scenes of the movie. I didn't like it though because Sam Raimi was way too conventional in directing it. Where are the beautiful camera movements, the inventive pictures of the last two movies? It felt to me as if he was tired and wanted to get over with it. I'm nor mad at him, I just had high hopes. Tobey's play felt also uninspired to me, but this could be due to the script. Oh well...

Other than that I loved it! :p Sorry, I had to say this. rolleyes I'm not comfortable with being Mr. Negative but I felt let down. It's great if you really loved it, though: I want to see a fourth instalment, too! smile

I was not let down at all. I am glad I own copy. I liked how related so well with older movies. Also, some scenes taken from older classic spiderman stories.
